TripleU You can chop trees with an axe in your backpack, but not with an axe in your hands. It's still possible to unequip the axe, chop the tree, and re-equip it, but doing that is awkward and weird.
d4yz Yea it's a known issue. Basically anything currently equipped does not count as being part of your inventory. I will fix that soon.
